LIFE Pittsburgh, a growing nonprofit organization with approximately 400 employees, is a community based alternative to nursing home care and assisted living. Through the LIFE Pittsburgh program, frail older adults can remain in their own home and receive a coordinated plan of care that enables them to maintain their independence and enjoy a safe and active life in the community. Our health teams of geriatric doctors, nurses, social workers, rehabilitation specialists and other health care professionals assess our Participants' needs and desires, plan and approve services with them and their family or caregiver, monitor for changes and provide timely interventions. Primary care and community services are provided through our Day Health Centers and through our in home program according to an individual Participant's needs.

Responsible for providing spiritual support to LIFE Pittsburgh Participants and/or families and assisting individuals to integrate life’s events through emotional support and a focus on spirituality. Facilitates Participant attendance of religious services and/or the receiving of sacraments as appropriate. BA required (MA preferred) with appropriate pastoral certification, four or more units of CPE or equivalent certification/experience, and at least 2 years ministry experience (geriatric exp preferred).
Responsible for ensuring that the LIFE Pittsburgh’s (4) physical locations are safe, well-kept and reflect LIFE Pittsburgh’s expectations. Will perform general maintenance repairs and requests and/or will coordinate with applicable property managers to correct issues in a timely manner. Works with outside vendors on estimates and quotes of significant work/projects and coordinates and oversees work conducted. Will continually evaluate physical locations for area’s that need repaired or renovated. Actively participates on the Safety Committee to assist and ensure locations are safe for Participants and Staff. Will work within the Health Centers, with daily travel to all centers as needed. Vehicle for travel is required. Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of basic maintenance issues/equipment (lighting, plumbing, etc) and also with minor renovations (carpet cleaning, drywall repair, painting, etc). Must have the ability to prioritize multiple projects at once and establish priorities in order to meet the needs.
Responsible for following an approved plan of care for housekeeping services for LIFE Pittsburgh Participants. Will provide a variety of cleaning functions and duties to ensure that Participants homes are well kept and safe for Participants and staff. Experience in housekeeping preferred, Valid PA Drivers License and use of a vehicle required.
Duties include but not limited to oversight of weekly supply order processes, determine appropriate sources of supplies, negotiating prices in conjunction with Director involved in accordance with LIFE Pittsburgh and regulatory policies and procedures, obtain bids and manage vendor discrepancies and relations. The Purchasing Manager will provide managerial support to all Purchasing Department staff – employee training, professional development, oversight and performance management. Will also utilize protocols to ensure that the purchasing department will establish and maintain professional vendor relations that is based on dependable, quality service, good customer service, expediate response time and simple, clear and consistent purchasing procedures. Monitors and documents vendor’s performance to maintain the highest quality customer service possible. Candidate must have valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and access to a vehicle. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or appropriate, relevant experience. Experience and proficiency with electronic accounting/ purchasing and inventory software strongly preferred. One – two years of supervisory/managerial experience is required.
Registered Nurse $10,000 Sign On Bonus
Under the direction of the Nursing Manager, the RN is responsible for nursing assignments of health needs and contributing to the plan of care for individuals and families enrolled in the LIFE Pittsburgh program. The Registered Nurse will promote and maintain the health of LIFE Pittsburgh participants in the community through teaching, counseling and appropriate preventive and rehabilitative services. Will be responsible for the initial implementation of nursing care plans and family nursing needs. Must have minimum of two years’ experience providing direct nursing care and oversight of Geriatric patients, valid Pennsylvania RN License, PA Drivers License with access to a vehicle and geriatric experience in a home health or community setting. This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Inquire with HR for details.
• Under the direction of the Center Administrator, the Rehab Aide is responsible for providing or assisting participants with direct and indirect restorative or rehabilitative care needs under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist, including functional and instrumental activities of daily living and therapeutic activities as determined by the interdisciplinary team and the individual care plan. Under the direction of the Rehabilitation Coordinator, performs restorative care services for participants at their place of residence and/or Adult Day Health Center. Maintains participant rights, privacy, and confidentiality. Assist in general equipment/ inventory maintenance, DME management; assist in scheduling of rehabilitation / restorative / home assessment appointments. Assist in execution of restorative and/or rehabilitation programs under the direction of Occupational / Physical Therapist. Valid PA Driver’s License AND Access to a Vehicle, A minimum of 1 year experience as a Restorative / Rehabilitation Aide with the elderly/frail is required.
The Scheduling Associate will work in collaboration with the LIFE Pittsburgh Community Care Supervisor to ensure that clinical staffing needs are met such as scheduling, coordinating and maintaining in order to meet the needs of our Participants. The Scheduling Associate will coordinate the use of LIFE Pittsburgh Staff as well as external PRN staff to ensure consistent quality of services for both internal and external staffing needs. Will be responsible for the collection, management and reporting of Participant scheduling information as directed by the Community Care Supervisor and Community Care Manager. Must be willing to take rotating weekend on-call responsibilities, be well organized, show great attention to detail, have Microsoft Excel experience, and have 1-2 years scheduling experience.
Personal Care Assistant/CNA up to $3,000 Sign On Bonus (depending upon shift hired for)
Under the direction of the Community Care Supervisor and Community Care Manager, PCA I and PCA II (CNA) will be responsible for providing care to meet the needs of the frail elderly to promote optimal health, and maximize independence and self-care. Will be responsible for providing or assisting participants with basic nursing and personal care services including, but not limited to bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding and assistance with any other ADL’s. Performs personal care services for Participants at their place of residence, and/or the Day Health Center. This position must have a Valid PA driver’s license, with access to a vehicle and one year of experience as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide is required (CNA’s preferred).
THIS POSITION OFFERS A $2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS
The Van Driver at LIFE Pittsburgh is responsible for providing safe transportation for LIFE Pittsburgh Participants in a timely, competent manner per established protocols and procedures. Ensures participant safety on the vehicle including the use of safety belt restraints, wheelchair and object securement, and monitoring of safe transport behaviors. Responsible for vehicle inspections for safe operations and records. Ensures adherence to scheduled transports for safe and timely movement of participants to and from the center, to external appointments and other locations as indicated. Responsible for strong communication with interdisciplinary team and transportation department to ensure optimal safety, care and service. Valid High School Diploma Required. Must have possession of valid PA driver’s license and a clean driving record from prior two years. One year of experience transporting geriatric, frail or disabled passengers is required.
