LIFE Pittsburgh, a growing nonprofit organization with approximately 400 employees, is a community based alternative to nursing home care and assisted living. Through the LIFE Pittsburgh program, frail older adults can remain in their own home and receive a coordinated plan of care that enables them to maintain their independence and enjoy a safe and active life in the community. Our health teams of geriatric doctors, nurses, social workers, rehabilitation specialists and other health care professionals assess our Participants' needs and desires, plan and approve services with them and their family or caregiver, monitor for changes and provide timely interventions. Primary care and community services are provided through our Day Health Centers and through our in home program according to an individual Participant's needs.

Under the direction of the Center Supervisor, the Center Aide will assist Participants with personal and social needs while attending our Adult Day Health Center. Will assist Participants with personal care needs, ambulation, escorting for appointments dining room service, and during recreational activities. HS Diploma, minimum of one year working with the geriatric population is required. This is a M-F DAYLIGHT position.
Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the Human Resources department for a local non-profit healthcare organization to recruit and retain a high quality workforce and to develop an employee and Participant oriented organizational culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance. This is a “hands-on”*, high paced management position. Key responsibilities include the monitoring and developing HR policies and procedures, strong emphasis on employee recruitment and retention, regular support of management with employee relation issues, strategic compensation, bi-weekly payroll processing, performance management, and legal compliance. The Human Resources Manager is a key member of the Management Team, reports to the Senior Director of Operations and will supervise a staff of 5-6. Minimum of 5 years Human Resources “generalist” experience across all functional areas of Human Resources, with experience leading or managing these functions. BA/BS or equivalent required; Master’s Degree, PHR or SPHR certification preferred knowledge of state and federal employment laws, wage and salary rules and regulations. Must have demonstrated ability to function in rapidly growing and fast-paced work environment, ability to recommend HR strategy and develop tactical action and project plans, exercise judgment and take independent action on day-to-day issues.
The Dietary Aide will assist the dietitian and the cook with the coordination and serving of nutritious and therapeutic meals and snacks for the elderly participants of LIFE Pittsburgh’s McKee’s Rocks Adult Day Health Center. Ensures all meals served conform to prescribed diet orders and meet the standards for quality and safety. Experience in a healthcare dietary department preferred. Candidate will possess specific knowledge of therapeutic diets including portion size, knowledge of infection control standards and practices and the ability to follow through with direction given by the Dietitian. High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year experience in a health care setting or food service operation. Monday-Friday daylight position.
Home Care Scheduling Associate
The Scheduling Associate will work in collaboration with the LIFE Pittsburgh Community Care Supervisor to ensure that clinical staffing needs are met such as scheduling, coordinating and maintaining in order to meet the needs of our Participants. The Scheduling Associate will coordinate the use of LIFE Pittsburgh Staff as well as external PRN staff to ensure consistent quality of services for both internal and external staffing needs. Will be responsible for the collection, management and reporting of Participant scheduling information as directed by the Community Care Supervisor and Community Care Manager. Must be willing to take rotating weekend on-call responsibilities, be well organized, show great attention to detail, have Microsoft Excel experience, and 1-2 years scheduling experience.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - $5,000 Sign on bonus
The LPN will assist with all functional nursing activities to include but not limited to medication administration, treatments, wound care and care plan preparedness. Pennsylvania LPN license and one year of experience with the geriatric population required. This position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, ask HR representative for detail.
Under the direction of the Center Administrator, the Administrative Assistant will provide a wide range of support to the Center Administrator and Operations Manager to support the organization and functions of the Adult Day Health Center (ADHC) at our North Side location. Responsible for coordinating and scheduling meetings, preparing materials, prepares correspondence and reports, memos/letters, general office management and other administrative duties. 1-3 years experience in an administrative support roll, Associates Degree or equivalent strongly preferred.
Director of Finance
We are looking for a motivated self-starter with strong analytical capabilities and excellent people skills to join our team as Director of Finance. Responsible for daily accounting operations, financial reporting, revenue management, banking services, budget preparation and financial analysis. The Director of Finance will manage and establish sound processes and procedures in alignment with LIFE Pittsburgh mission and core values, GAAP, internal auditing standards and all other applicable state and federal regulations. Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in accounting; MBA or CPA preferred. A minimum of 5-10 years relevant experience in a healthcare or related environment with supervisory experience. Must provide salary requirements.
Registered Nurse $10,000 Sign On Bonus
Under the direction of the Nursing Manager, the RN is responsible for nursing assignments of health needs and contributing to the plan of care for individuals and families enrolled in the LIFE Pittsburgh program. The Registered Nurse will promote and maintain the health of LIFE Pittsburgh participants in the community through teaching, counseling and appropriate preventive and rehabilitative services. Will be responsible for the initial implementation of nursing care plans and family nursing needs. Must have minimum of two years’ experience providing direct nursing care and oversight of Geriatric patients, valid Pennsylvania RN License, PA Drivers License with access to a vehicle and geriatric experience in a home health or community setting. Manager of Outreach and Enrollment
Will be responsible for all function related to both Marketing/Outreach activities as well as the assessment and enrollment process for the organization. Candidate must possess the ability to conduct comprehensive evaluation of current marketing/outreach activities, identifying and analyzing trends and developing/implementing strategic initiatives to increase not only the visibility in the community, but ultimately enrollment in LIFE Pittsburgh’s programs and services. In addition, will be responsible for managing the initial assessment process, eligibility determinations and enrollment into the LIFE Pittsburgh program. Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in related field (Masters preferred), 3-5 years progressive experience with outreach and enrollment with the elderly population, 1-3 years management experience and working knowledge of community based or aging programs/services.
The Recreation Assistant will assist our Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in the planning, organizing and implementation of activities in our Adult Day Health Center. This is a Monday through Friday, daylight position. At least 1 yr of experience in a Recreation Department with the elderly or frail or minimum 2 years experience in a health care setting working with personal care within the frail or elderly population and demonstrated ability or training in recreation required.
Personal Care Assistant $1,000 Sign On Bonus
Under the direction of the Community Care Supervisor and Community Care Manager, PCA I and PCA II (CNA) will be responsible for providing care to meet the needs of the frail elderly to promote optimal health, and maximize independence and self-care. Will be responsible for providing or assisting participants with basic nursing and personal care services including, but not limited to bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding and assistance with any other ADL’s. Performs personal care services for Participants at their place of residence, and/or the Day Health Center. This position must have a Valid PA driver’s license, with access to a vehicle and one year of experience as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide is required (CNA’s preferred).

The Van Driver at LIFE Pittsburgh is responsible for providing safe transportation for LIFE Pittsburgh Participants in a timely, competent manner per established protocols and procedures. Ensures participant safety on the vehicle including the use of safety belt restraints, wheelchair and object securement, and monitoring of safe transport behaviors. Responsible for vehicle inspections for safe operations and records. Ensures adherence to scheduled transports for safe and timely movement of participants to and from the center, to external appointments and other locations as indicated. Responsible for strong communication with interdisciplinary team and transportation department to ensure optimal safety, care and service. Valid High School Diploma Required. Must have possession of valid PA driver’s license and a clean driving record from prior two years. One year of experience transporting geriatric, frail or disabled passengers is required.
LIFE Pittsburgh is looking for a Full Time Maintenance Specialist who will have responsibility for ensuring that the LIFE Pittsburgh’s (4) physical locations are safe, well-kept and reflect LIFE Pittsburgh’s expectations. Will perform general maintenance repairs and requests and/or will coordinate with applicable property managers to correct issues in a timely manner. Works with outside vendors on estimates and quotes of significant work/projects and coordinates and oversees work conducted. Will continually evaluate physical locations for area’s that need repaired or renovated. Actively participates on the Safety Committee to assist and ensure locations are safe for Participants and Staff. Will work within the Health Centers, with daily travel to all centers as needed. Vehicle for travel is required. Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of basic maintenance issues/equipment (plumbing, electrical, etc) and also with minor renovations. Must have the ability to prioritize multiple projects at once and establish priorities in order to meet the needs.
